One of the things I enjoy doing is organising and administering things. It is something that comes naturally to me. I seem to be able to work in a job for a while and then see better ways of doing it or making things run smoothly.
Today I was researching the Biblical gift of administration and I came across this definition…
“The Greek word for the spiritual gift of administration is Kubernesis. This is a unique term that refers to a shipmaster or captain. The literal meaning is “to steer,” or “to rule or govern.” It carries the idea of someone who guides and directs a group of people toward a goal or destination. We see variations of this word in verses like Acts 27:11, and Revelation 18:17.
See also I Corinthians 12:28, Titus 1:4-5.”
The gift of administration may not be a glamorous gift like the gift of healing or prophecy, but it is pretty cool in its own way. It certainly makes organising things a whole lot easier.
