Proverbs 14:26-27 NLT -Those who fear the LORD are secure; he will be a refuge for their children. Fear of the LORD is a life-giving fountain; it offers escape from the snares of death.
Proverbs talks a lot about having a reverential fear of the Lord and how it is the beginning of wisdom. When we understand who God is and put Him in His rightful place in our lives, we have our foundation set right. Today’s verses talk about being secure because we fear the Lord. It says that not only will we be secure, but He will be a refuge for our children. When we fear the Lord and understand He is above all things, we can trust Him with our future and the future of our children. Fearing the Lord really is a life-giving foundation.
Dear God, today I come before You will a reverential fear of who You are. You are mighty God, the Creator and Ruler of the universe. You made all things, You own all things, and You are in control of all things. You hold life and death in Your hands. I trust You with my life and the lives of my family members. Please be a refuge and life-giving fountain for us all. Amen.
