Try different versions for a fuller meaning

Sometimes when reading the Bible I might look up the Greek words and sometimes I try a different translation to get a fuller meaning.

Today I looked up Matthew 5:3 which is the verse of the day on the Bible app. In the NLT it says..

“God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.”

Reading the Amplified version today gave it a fuller meaning for me. In particular I like how it expanded the words “blessed” and “humble”.

For me I find this a good practice to line up different versions and compare them. The Bible app and e-Sword both have this feature.

In e-Sword I usually have the NLT, NIV, CEV, KJV+, ESV and the TPT open. I find the subtle differences really help my Bible study.
